Creature from the movie ‘Pitch Black’.
The creatures were designed by french creature artist Patrick Tatopoulos.
This creature was manufactured from the original moulds post production.
Fibreglass body, arms and head, latex and polyfoam wings and a silicone tail.
The creature has a chest and stomach wound and blue blood.
No other version of these creatures exist anywhere in the world. The only 2 film used versions of the creatures were made of foam latex and hung from the ceiling of the John Cox’s Creature Workshop where they slowly perished. Animatronic heads of these 2 film used creatures are also on this Auction site.
‘Pitch Black’ is a Sci-Fi cult classic. It was shot in Queensland, Australia and starred Vin Diesel.
The creatures were puppeteered by the John Cox’s Creature Workshop crew.
This item has a purpose built crate which is suitable for international transport, ISPM 15 treated, which can be supplied free of charge. The item can travel in a smaller crate if required, cost of smaller crate to be paid by buyer.
This Pitch Black creature featured in the international touring exhibition ‘How to Make a Monster – the art and technology of animatronics’.
